Summary

The CLE program "What Mediators Need to Know about the New Statewide ADR Backlog Relief Plan" was originally presented and recorded on February 2, 2021.

The Tennessee Supreme Court has approved an innovative plan prepared by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission (ADRC) to assist courts facing a backlog of civil cases caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The plan applies to all pending civil actions in general sessions courts, juvenile courts, chancery courts, and circuit courts. Locally, the ADRC has partnered with the Community Mediation Center to handle court referrals or orders for mediation. Our presenters will cover the details of this new mediation plan, including the timelines/deadlines of the mediation process, which cases should be considered, how mediations will be conducted, and offer advice on how to get involved.

Presenters:
John Jefferson, Tennessee Administrative Office of the Courts
Jackie Kittrell, Community Mediation Center
Marcus Rudolph, Redeem and Restore Mediation Group, LLC, ADR Commission Member
Stephen Shields, Jackson, Shields, Yeiser, Holt, Owen & Bryant, ADR Commission Member

(If you have any questions about the program please contact the speakers at John.Jefferson@tncourts.gov; jackie.kittrell@gmail.com; rudolph365@gmail.com; sshields@jsyc.com)

Approved for 1 hour of "Online" General CLE Credit and 1 hour of General CME Credit
