Approved for Dual CLE Credit, Diversity
The CLE program "Diversity & Inclusion: Removing Obstacles - Finding Innovative Solutions to Tackle Bias and Social Injustice" was originally presented and recorded on October 1, 2020.
The bench and bar in East Tennessee are encouraged to participate in "Removing Obstacles," a CLE program offered by the KBA Diversity in the Profession Committee. Van Turner, our keynote speaker, will bring judges, attorneys, and law students together to discuss legal solutions and tools for interrupting bias across our community. Diversity and Inclusion is a concept that has been used for over 20 years, but what does it mean at a practical level? In his remarks, Mr. Turner will discuss removing obstacles to diversity and inclusion for the future of our country, our communities and our personal growth. As legal leaders, we must drive meaningful solutions to systematic bias. The program is a partnership between the KBA, the UT College of Law, and the LMU Duncan School of Law to promote the retention of legal talent in East Tennessee following graduation.
Presenter: Van D. Turner, Jr., Memphis Greenspace, President and CEO
