Summary

The CLE Program "Representing the Small Business Client: What You Need to Know" was originally presented and recorded on July 11, 2019.

This panel addresses considerations and best practices for representing small business clients. Topics will include but will not be limited to tax distributions, insider trading in private companies, securities fraud, organization/incorporation issues, protecting IP, commercial loans, operating agreements and employment matters. Ethical issues such as competence, diligence, communication, the identity of a client in business representations, and the lawyer’s duty to promote justice will also be addressed.
