Summary

The CLE program "CARES Act to the Rescue – What Law Firms Need to Know about SBA Loan Programs" was originally presented and recorded on April 14, 2020.

COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus, is significantly impacting small businesses in our community, including law firms. In response, Congress passed The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”). This one hour CLE will cover the small business loan provisions of the CARES Act and how those provisions affect law firms. The CLE will mainly focus on the Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”), which expands Section 7(a) of the Small Business Act by providing forgivable loans to businesses with under 500 employees. The CLE will also discuss a second loan option for businesses, the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (“EIDL”), which is expanded/relaxed under Section 7(b) of the CARES Act and is available to small businesses, including law firms, that have sustained economic injury from COVID-1.

Speakers: Erica Green and Andrew Hale, Kramer Rayson LLP

(If you have any questions about the program please contact the speaker at egreen@kramer-rayson.com or ahale@kramer-rayson.com )

Approved for 1 hour of "Online" General CLE Credit
