Celebrating 20 years of partnering with Knoxville Habitat.
Making the American Dream possible for a local family!
The Knoxville Bar Association is celebrating more than 20 years of partnering with Knoxville Habitat for Humanity to build homes for families in our community! Our Habitat families have been carefully chosen over the years and work hard for their homes, putting in at 500 hours on the construction of Habitat homes as a down payment, and repaying Habitat for the cost of their homes through interest-free mortgages. As a covenant partner with Habitat, the KBA committed to raise $20,000, which is one-half of the cost of the materials to build this home. The KBA’s involvement with Habitat has over the years has provided its members with an opportunity to build relationships among lawyers and judges in the Bar while having a meaningful impact on our community.
Our members have built eight houses since 1994, more houses than any other bar association in Tennessee. Dozens of KBA members have been involved since the beginning and helped establish Habitat as an important KBA tradition. Each time the KBA commits to build a Habitat house, we see new faces join in and friendships are formed within the bar. The best part is seeing lawyers working side-by-side and its indicative of the deep commitment the legal community has to serving others.

The KBA would like to thank all of our members, who along with their family and friends, helped build this beautiful home for Melody and her grandchildren.
