The CLE Program "Annual FLSA Update" will be presented as a Webinar presentation on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 12 - 1 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). The program is approved for 1 hour of general "distance learning" CLE credit.

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) was passed in the 1930s. Despite employers’ best efforts to comply with this old law, every year, millions of dollars are paid in back wages for overtime violations as a result of thousands of lawsuits or Department of Labor investigations.  This CLE will look at significant changes from the last year from the Department of Labor, as well as important court decisions from across the county. Whether you represent employees or employers, this CLE will keep you up to date on important developments regarding the FLSA.

ZOOM INSTRUCTIONS

1.  You can join this meeting with almost any device. For mobile devices, find the Zoom Meetings on the App Store or Google Play Store and pre-install. For a desktop or laptop computer, the link to pre-install is: https://zoom.us/download. You can then leave the meeting and then re-join again at the appointed meeting time. Absent a computer or mobile device, you can just join with a telephone call (audio only), but the best meeting experience by far is to use a computer or iPad, so you can see others and what is being presented.

2.  For computer/mobile device connection: If you don’t already have the Meetings app installed, you will be prompted to do a quick installation when you click the meeting link. Once installed, you don’t need to “sign in” or “create an account”, you just need to join the meeting. Only the host of a meeting has to have an account. Once you join with your computer, you will be asked if you want to use the computer audio or dial in by telephone for your audio. You can use computer audio if you have a headset or are on a mobile device or laptop with camera/mic – webcams are encouraged; otherwise, dial in via telephone for your audio, following the on-screen instructions.

3. If you encounter any technical difficulties at all during the meeting, and it is persistent, sometimes it is best just to leave the meeting and then rejoin it. If you encounter any difficulties or have questions as a result of the test above, just contact KBA Office well before the meeting so that we can resolve.
