Law Student Discussion Group Series - What You Can Do With Your Law Degree - Government Law Focus
Wed, February 24, 2021
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM ET
The KBA Diversity Committee has coordinated a series of discussion groups for law students called 'What You Can Do With Your Law Degree.' The purpose of the discussion groups is to allow Knoxville attorneys to share what decisions led to them choosing their area of practice, explain how their practice has changed, and offer students practical advice for deciding their practice concentration. The program will be structured to encourage dialogue, and students will be given the opportunity to ask questions and pick the brains of participating attorneys. We encourage students to submit questions during the registration process for the participating attorneys.
The topic of this discussion is Government Law.
Featuring:
Christina F. Magrans-Tillery
City of Knoxville Law Department
Jarrod Blue
Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Carlos Yunsan
Tennessee Court of Appeals
* An online reservation is required in advance of the program. Registrants will receive a confirmation e-mail the day before the event which will contain a link to join the meeting via Zoom*
ZOOM INSTRUCTIONS
1. You can join this meeting with almost any device. For mobile devices, find the Zoom Meetings on the App Store or Google Play Store and pre-install. For a desktop or laptop computer, the link to pre-install is: https://zoom.us/download. You can then leave the meeting and then re-join again at the appointed meeting time. Absent a computer or mobile device, you can just join with a telephone call (audio only), but the best meeting experience by far is to use a computer or iPad, so you can see others and what is being presented.
2. For computer/mobile device connection: If you don’t already have the Meetings app installed, you will be prompted to do a quick installation when you click the meeting link. Once installed, you don’t need to “sign in” or “create an account”, you just need to join the meeting. Only the host of a meeting has to have an account. Once you join with your computer, you will be asked if you want to use the computer audio or dial in by telephone for your audio. You can use computer audio if you have a headset or are on a mobile device or laptop with camera/mic – webcams are encouraged; otherwise, dial in via telephone for your audio, following the on-screen instructions.
3. If you encounter any technical difficulties at all during the meeting, and it is persistent, sometimes it is best just to leave the meeting and then rejoin it. If you encounter any difficulties or have questions as a result of the test above, just contact KBA Office well before the meeting so that we can resolve.
