The Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020, at 8:30 a.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and local and state gathering restrictions, the Annual Meeting and Elections will be held virtually through the OnAir virtual platform. At the end of the meeting, the Honorable Sharon G. Lee of the Tennessee Supreme Court will issue the Oath of Office to incoming KBA President Cheryl G. Rice. All members must register for the meeting in advance in order to attend.
Members may vote in one of two ways:
1. Participate in the live election during the Annual Meeting using the OnAir Virtual Platform.
2. Cast an absentee ballot by coming to the offices of the Knoxville Bar Association during regular business hours on November 25 - December 10.

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT:
Any member in good standing who personally comes to the offices of the Knoxville Bar Association during regular business hours from November 25 through December 10 will be permitted to vote. The member must first file a written form making oath that he or she will not be in town or otherwise be unable to attend the Annual Meeting. Then the member will be permitted to cast an absentee ballot for such officer or board positions as may be contested. COVID-19 protocols will include a spacious area large enough to accommodate six-foot distancing and markings on the floor to enforce social distancing and maintain separation between members and KBA staff.

According to Article VI, Section 1, of the KBA By-Laws: "Nominations may also be made from the floor during the Annual Meeting by any member in good standing."
Pursuant to the Bylaws change approved at the Annual Meeting in 1996, members are permitted to vote by absentee ballot.
To participate in the virtual Annual Meeting, members must register on the KBA website before 5 p.m. on December 10. Click here to register. The KBA Annual Meeting will use the OnAir virtual platform for the live broadcast. Members will receive an email with a personalized link to access the Annual Meeting and participate in the election of Officers and members of the Board of Governors. The OnAir virtual platform will not work on a mobile phone.
