Kenneth S. Christiansen - In Memoriam

The Knoxville Bar Association and its members remember the friends of the association who may be gone, but not forgotten. We value their service to the community through their work toward justice and hope that this may serve as a tribute to them.

Kenneth S. Christiansen

Posted on: Dec 31, 2018

Who was and continues to be Kenneth S. Christiansen?  To the community at large, he was a professional – a lawyer – who possessed three degrees:  a B.S. in Horticulture and a J.D. from the University of Tennessee and an MBA from Clemson University.  To his profession, he was the epitome of integrity – honest, competent, compassionate, and dependable  – and served many not-for-profit organizations benefitting the community.  To his clients he was a comfort and a provider for their needs.  To his colleagues in the office, he was “Kenny” and he was a warrior.  While suffering from multiple and serious health issues for many years, he always made himself available to meet the needs of anyone who asked and he never complained.  To his neighborhood, he was a friend and a “showplace” gardener. To his closest friends, he enjoyed life in all of its dimensions and he made life enjoyable for them – particularly his “golfing buddies”. To his family – his wife, Debbie, a pediatrician, and his children, Zachary, a lawyer, Audrey and Mary Emily, both physicians -- he was “Sparky”.  He gave “spark” to all of their lives, both in ordinary day-to-day living and in special times.  To his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, he was faithful and is with Him today.  In summary, Kenny was a “role model”.
