W. Mitchell Cramer - In Memoriam

The Knoxville Bar Association and its members remember the friends of the association who may be gone, but not forgotten. We value their service to the community through their work toward justice and hope that this may serve as a tribute to them.

W. Mitchell Cramer

Posted on: Dec 31, 2017

W. Mitchell Cramer, age 68, passed away at his home on February 20, 2017. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1970 and received his law degree from the University of Tennessee in 1973. After graduating from law school he served as Assistant Law Director and then as Deputy Law Director for the City of Knoxville. He was in the private practice of law for 35 plus years and in 2016 he retired from the law firm of Norton & Luhn, P.C. Prior to his retirement in 2016 he was a member of the Tennessee and American Bar Associations and was engaged in the general practice of law with an emphasis in litigation. He also had served as a speaker and panel member on seminars for attorneys and hospital staff members on numerous topics and was previously recognized as a top attorney recipient for professional negligence defense by his peers for Knoxville City View Magazine. He was an avid baseball and soccer fan as well as a “VFL”. His collection of baseballs and various sports memorabilia was quite impressive. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed sporting around in his ’57 Chevy. Cooking was another of his passions. He would often share a new recipe or sometimes even a sample. Preceded in death by wife, Aleda Cramer and parents Bill and Shirley Cramer, Mitch will be sadly missed by wife, Sharon, his children, grandchildren, sister, in‐laws, several nieces and nephews, his colleagues, and many dear and special friends.
