Brian H. Trammell - In Memoriam

The Knoxville Bar Association and its members remember the friends of the association who may be gone, but not forgotten. We value their service to the community through their work toward justice and hope that this may serve as a tribute to them.

Brian H. Trammell

Posted on: Dec 31, 2016

Brian H. Trammell, age 58, passed away at his home on March 27, 2016. Preceded in death by his father, Herbert Trammell, Brian is survived by his wife, Zayna; mother, Jane Trammell; children Andrew (Robyn) Trammell, Alex (Audi) Trammell, Rebecca (Nick) McDonough, and Charles “Charlie” Trammell; granddaughter Zoey Trammell, siblings, Carmen (Tom Swain) Trammell, Bert Trammell, and Lisa (Buzz) Thomas. Brian was an accomplished trial attorney, tennis enthusiast, talented vocalist and musician and beloved member of Church Street United Methodist Church, where he unselfishly devoted much of his free me as a lay leader. Born and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Brian received his undergraduate degrees (History & English) and his law degree from the University of Tennessee. He practiced law with Kennerly, Montgomery & Finley, P.C. until 2008 when he founded the insurance‐defense firm of Trammell, Adkins & Ward, P.C. along with Terry Adkins and Kenneth Ward. There, with the respect of his peers, he continued to practice with a rare combination of courtesy, talent and humility. Brian’s absence will be keenly felt in the Knoxville legal community. Although Brian found joy and success as a lawyer and a lay leader, he made his greatest impact in the lives of those he loved. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his warmth, his humility, his joviality, and hisendless optimism.
