Kimberly Corsini - In Memoriam

The Knoxville Bar Association and its members remember the friends of the association who may be gone, but not forgotten. We value their service to the community through their work toward justice and hope that this may serve as a tribute to them.

Kimberly Corsini

Posted on: Dec 31, 2011

Kim Corsini graduated from ETSU in 1976 with a degree in Criminal Justice.  She was hired as a litigation assistant at TVA in the late 1970's and very early 1980's. That experience inspired her to enroll at what was then known as the Memphis State University School of Law.  She later transferred to the University of Tennessee, where she graduated in 1984. Her first job was with Court of Criminal Appeals Judge Joe D. Duncan. She worked with Judge Duncan until she was offered a position as a Staff Attorney for the Tennessee Supreme Court in Nashville.  In 1988 she returned to East Tennessee as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Knoxville. Her varied responsibilities included the City Fire Department which was probably her favorite work as an attorney. When she left that job, the Fire Department made her an honorary Captain, an honor which it had bestowed on only one other civilian.  She always retained her badge, framed and on a shelf wherever she worked. It was always one of her proudest achievements.  Kim left the City to work for then Court of Criminal Appeals Judge, Gary Wade. She left Judge Wade to start a business with her husband, Rick Corsini, doing freelance research and writing for various attorneys throughout east Tennessee.  Kim was quick witted, kind, loving, smart, and easy to get along with. She had both personal and professional integrity which was respected by all who came to know her. She was an excellent researcher, an excellent writer, and a superb editor.
