Carolyn Faye Jeter - In Memoriam

The Knoxville Bar Association and its members remember the friends of the association who may be gone, but not forgotten. We value their service to the community through their work toward justice and hope that this may serve as a tribute to them.

Carolyn Faye Jeter

Posted on: Dec 31, 2011

Carolyn Faye Jeter, age 55 years, departed this life Monday, October 31, 2011 at her home in Concord, Tennessee. Carolyn was born in Knoxville, TN on April 25, 1956 to James and Minnie Jeter. She was a loving and amazing sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Sister Jeter was a member of College Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church. In 1990, she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Carolyn served Knox County as an appointed judicial officeholder for seventeen years. She served as Judicial Commissioner and later as a Magistrate for General Sessions Court. Members of the bar, law enforcement officers and her co-workers remember her compassion, keen intellect and wit. Despite the thousands of cases that appeared before her, Carolyn never ceased to remember the individual. Carolyn embodies the highest standards of judicial service. Her memory is an inspiration to those who had the privilege of serving with Carolyn and benefiting from her tutelage.
