Bob Stivers - In Memoriam

The Knoxville Bar Association and its members remember the friends of the association who may be gone, but not forgotten. We value their service to the community through their work toward justice and hope that this may serve as a tribute to them.

Bob Stivers

Bob Stivers was born on April 6, 1945, in Oak Ridge.  He grew up in Memphis.  He began at UT in 1963 and graduated from the UT College of Law in 1969.  He served as president of his fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha.  He was president of the Oak Ridge Bar Association, and member of the Hamilton Burnett Inn of Court, the State Archives Committee, and numerous other professional organizations.  Bob served as a football official in high school and college.  He served on board of Habitat for Humanity, running building crews almost every Saturday for fifteen years.  He served on the board of the Urban League, and delivered mobile meals as long as he was able.  Bob was an avid outdoorsman.  He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Trout Unlimited.  He was an avid clay shooter, and traveled widely to pursue his love of fly fishing.  He was an active member of Central United Methodist Church for over fifty years.  He taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served on various church committees.  Bob and Beth were married for fifty years.  They had two children, Ali and Rob, and four grandchildren.
