The role of the Barristers Volunteer Breakfast Committee is to serve a monthly breakfast to folks who are underprivileged and often homeless at the Volunteer Ministry Center. Past chairs have worked hard to develop a monthly schedule (every 4th Thursday breakfast), a menu (sausage biscuits, oatmeal, bananas, etc.), and a great system of volunteers. The committee seeks firm and individual sponsorships to cover the cost of breakfast each month. Sponsors are asked to purchase food or make a $150 donation to purchase the food and volunteer to serve.

Volunteer Breakfasts Committee Activities
We can think of no better goal than to have every KBA member involved so that together we can improve our community in the spirit of camaraderie and dedication to public service that has long been a hallmark of the legal profession. To that end, the Knoxville Barristers needs your help. The Knoxville Barristers Volunteer Breakfast Committee needs sponsors and volunteers for the upcoming year. The Volunteer Breakfast is a recurring event on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:15 a.m. that provides and serves breakfast at the Volunteer Ministry Center, located at 511 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917. We would like to secure sponsors and volunteers for the entire year.
Sponsor a Volunteer Breakfast
What does it mean to Sponsor a Volunteer Breakfast?
To sponsor a Volunteer Breakfast the cost is $150. Sponsorship is simply a monetary donation to supply the groceries for the Volunteer Breakfast. Firms and attorneys are not responsible for picking up the supplies for the breakfast. The Volunteer Breakfast Co-Chairs, Mitchell Panter & Matt Knable will be grocery shopping for you and taking them to Volunteer Ministry. If a group or firm, or individual is interested in sponsoring, please complete the Volunteer Breakfast Sponsorship Form. Please note: If you would like to volunteer your firm or group, or yourself please click here. You must complete both the Sponsorship and Volunteer forms in order to Sponsor and Volunteer for a particular month.
Volunteer to serve at a Volunteer Breakfast
What does it mean to Volunteer to serve a Volunteer Breakfast?
Volunteering to prepare and serve at a Volunteer Breakfast means a group or firm, or individual will meet at Volunteer Ministry Center, located at 511 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917 at 6:15 a.m. to serve breakfast to approximately 30-40 individuals. Volunteers are usually done serving breakfast by 7:30 a.m. The Committee needs approximately 4-6 individuals per month to prepare and serve breakfast. If you are interested in volunteering yourself, a group, or firm please fill out the Volunteer Sign Up Form. Please note: If you signing up multiple people from your group or firm to volunteer, please add them individually to the form.
The Volunteer Breakfast is a great way to serve the community, and although we’re building our own legal community in the process, it’s an enjoyable break from legal activities. This is a great chance to partner with members of your firm, involve your staff in a groups philanthropic efforts, or serve the community with your law school classmates or friends.
If you have any question or concerns, please contact committee co-chairs Mitchell Panter at (865) 546-4646 or Matt Knable at (865) 360-5044.
