Tennessee Child Support Guidelines (Rule 1240-02-04) have been submitted to the Secretary of State and are now open for formal comment. There have been some changes since July of 2018.

How to comment: Formal comments can either be provided orally at the public hearings or in writing and must be received within the time permitted for submission of comments.

1. You can submit a formal comment to the ChildSupportPolicy.DHS@tn.gov (please send a separate email from this email). You must include:
   1. In the subject line: Formal Comment to Child Support Guideline Revisions
   2. The section of the Rule you are responding to (and the page number where the section can be found on  the Notice of Rulemaking Hearing document would be helpful)
   3. Please submit all your comments in one email. Offices can work together and submit as an office if desired..
2. Submit a formal comment by mail to:          The Office of General Counsel, James K. Polk Bldg., 14th floor, 505 Deaderick Street, Nashville TN 37243
3. Provide a formal comment in person at one of the Public Rule Making Hearings. The two Knoxville hearings will be held on August 6^th at 10 am and 6 p.m. in Conference Room A – 3^rd Floor, 7175 Strawberry Plains Pk, Tennessee State Office Building on Campus, Knoxville, TN 37914.

Timeframe for commenting: Formal comments must be submitted by close of business on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

Rule Making Hearing Schedule: Notices of rulemaking hearing are posted to the Secretary of State web site to give official notice for the time, date, and location of a hearing. The text of proposed rules being considered at the hearing is included in the notice. As a result of the hearing, a rulemaking hearing rule may be promulgated. The text of the rulemaking hearing rule may reflect changes resulting from the hearing.
