The Annual Supreme Court Dinner will be held on Wednesday, September 5th, at the Crowne Plaza Knoxville located at 401 West Summit Hill Drive. The cocktail reception will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cash bar and will be followed by dinner in the Ballroom. Each year, the Knoxville Bar Association hosts a dinner to pay tribute to the Justices of the Tennessee Supreme Court. The Justices of our Supreme Court, as well as the local judiciary, will be our guests for the dinner on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Our keynote speaker will be Ashby Pate, who is a Birmingham attorney at Lightfoot Franklin & White LLC. Ashby is a former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Palau, where he helped design the island nation’s first-ever jury trial system. Ashby’s “Be the Light” presentation stresses the importance of human connection in the practice of law and has resulted in speaking engagements across the country.
