Volunteer for Breakfast Today!

Posted on: Jan 1, 2017

We can think of no better goal for 2017 than to have every KBA member involved so that together we can improve our community in the spirit of camaraderie and dedication to public service that has long been a hallmark of the legal profession. The Knoxville Barristers need your help. The Knoxville Barristers Volunteer Breakfast Committee is in need of sponsors and volunteers for the upcoming year. The Volunteer Breakfast is a recurring event on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:15 a.m. to help provide and serve breakfast at the Volunteer Ministry Center, located at 511 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917. We would like to secure sponsors and volunteers for the entire 2017 year.

What does it mean to Sponsor Volunteer Breakfast?

To sponsor a Volunteer Breakfast the cost is $150. This is just a monetary donation to supply the groceries for the Volunteer Breakfast. You will not be responsible for picking up the supplies for the breakfast. The Volunteer Breakfast Co-Chairs, Paul Wehemier & Matt Knable will be grocery shopping for you and taking them to Volunteer Ministry. If you are unable to fund the breakfast, the Barristers will subsidize the cost of the breakfast. If your group or firm, or yourself are interested in sponsoring, please fill out the Volunteer Breakfast Sponsorship Form. Please Note: You must complete both the Sponsorship and Volunteer forms in order to Sponsor and Volunteer for a particular month.

How do you volunteer to serve at the Volunteer Breakfast?

Volunteering to serve at a Volunteer Breakfast means your group or firm, or yourself will meet at Volunteer Ministry Center, located at 511 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917 at 6:15 a.m. to  serve breakfast to approximately 30-40 individuals, generally leaving the site around 7:30 a.m.We usually need 4-6 individuals per month. If you are interested in volunteering yourself, a group or firm, please fill out the Volunteer Sign Up Form. Please note: If you signing up multiple people from your group or firm to volunteer, please add them individually to the form.

This is a great way to serve the community, and although we’re building our own legal community in the process, it’s an enjoyable break from legal activities. This is a great chance to partner with members of your firm, or law school classmates or friends or use it as an opportunity to involve staff in your office too.

If you have any question or concerns, please e-mail committee co-chairs Paul Wehmeier at (865) 546-7000 or pwehmeier@adhknox.com, or Matt Knable at (865) 360-5044 or knablelw@gmail.com.
