On Friday, May 1st, members of the Knoxville Bar Association celebrated Law Day with a luncheon and CLE featuring Melanie Wilson, who will become the dean of the UT College of Law on July 1st. Dean Doug Blaze was presented with the Law & Liberty Award by the Knoxville Barristers.

On March 14th, local lawyers volunteered at the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation's Lucky Kidney Run. The volunteer-lawyers set-up for the event, prepared refreshments for the participants, checked runners in, sold merchandise, and a few even followed up that service by running in the race.

On March 30th, a group of community-focused volunteers assembled at the Love Kitchen ready for action. Volunteers organized the food pantry, prepared food for the weekly deliveries, took out trash, sorted recyclables, and labeled food containers for the Love Kitchen.

On April 16 and 17, 2015, the Knoxville Bar Association celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Law Practice Today Expo. Coach Butch Jones was the featured speaker for the judicial roundtable luncheon. There were 320+ attendees and more than thirty sponsors. View sponsor list.

The KBA's "Battle of the Sexes" Ethics Bowl was held on Friday, December 5, 2014.
The Women's Team: Wynne Caffey, Jamie Ballinger Holden, Rachel Hurt, Cheryl G. Rice, Debbie Poplin and Ann Short. The Men's Team: Doug Blaze, Tom Dillard, Chris McCarty, Charles Swanson, Joey White, and John Winemiller.

On November 10th, the KBA Functions Committee hosted a Trivia Night. Trivia Team "Board Games & Bragging Rights" won and the team members were John Rice, David Watkins, Jill Evert and Chris Belford. Sixty-four KBA members participated in the trivia night.

The Tennessee Supreme Court presided over the Swearing In of close to 100 new lawyers on Monday, November 3rd. That same afternoon, the Knoxville Barristers hosted a reception to welcome new admittees at Clancy's Tavern and Whiskey House.

On Tuesday, September 30th, the KBA joined with the U.T. College of Law and the LMU Duncan School of Law to sponsor a minority law student reception. There were 48 lawyers from 30 different law firms and 28 law students in attendance.
- Corn Hole 2014

On September 25, the Barristers Hunger & Poverty Relief Committee sponsored a charity corn hole tournament to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. We appreciate Bearden Beer Market and Gonzo Gourmet for their generosity and extend a special thanks to all of the lawyers and law students who participated. $700 was raised for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Coincidentally, the winning team was named "The Winning Team" and featured Mitchell Panter and Houston Havasy.
