Placement Service Waives Fee

The troubling state of the economy is familiar news by now. Yet despite these challenging financial times, the Knoxville Bar Association's Legal Placement Service has found continued success in assisting those who are seeking new job opportunities. A persistent, well trained and highly motivated placement staff allows LPS to succeed in one area that is vulnerable to economic conditions.

The KBA continues to explore and pursue new and innovative avenues for job placement opportunities. On January 20, 2010 the KBA Board of Governors voted to waive the $100 listing fee for all new job listings received between now and December 31, 2010. This special offer applies only to KBA members. What does this mean? It means that you can list any opening that you have in your office (attorneys or support staff) and you will begin receiving detailed candidate packets without spending a dime. You will only be responsible for the placement fee if you choose to hire one of the candidates. In addition, in an effort to help attorneys who may have recently found themselves out of work, the KBA Board has also agreed to waive the listing fee for ANY attorney position. We hope that this will encourage local companies who may not have a KBA member employed in the business to utilize our service for their attorney opening.

More Information
At Legal Placement Service, we believe information is the key to making the right hiring choice. You need far more than a simple resume. We make sure you have it! When you sign up for LPS, you identify the skill level and type of candidate you want to hire.  Finding the right candidate is easier when you can review a detailed application which outlines employment and educational histories.  Each support staff candidate packet includes a resume, a detailed application, a behavioral questionnaire and skill test scores.  The LPS application also includes information about salary history and employment references to allow you to follow-up directly with the former employers.    The packet typically is approximately 20 pages in length and provides you abundant information to make the best hiring decision.

Better Selection
No other placement service in East Tennessee specializes in legal staffing. What does that mean to you? It means Legal Placement focuses its efforts on building a comprehensive data base of qualified legal professionals for you.  In fact, the LPS generally is able to supply approximately 15 to 20 candidates per listing.  The result is that you are able to address and resolve staffing issues quickly.  Additionally, employers are spared the time-consuming process of advertising for potential employees.  This service is cost-effective for all members to meet their staffing needs regardless of the size of the firm.

Choose from a wide array of available skills and software test modules. Test up to 3 different candidates for one low fee!  Put them to the test by scheduling an appointment for them to take the Computer Skills Test offered through the KBA Legal Placement Service.

• All contracts require a non-refundable $100 listing fee. This fee must be paid before any referrals can be made.

• The permanent placement fee for support staff is $650.00.
  
• The permanent placement fee for an attorney is $750.00.
  
• A separate contract and fee schedule exists for temporary positions.
  
• Customized testing packages are available for testing 1-3 candidates for $75.00.
