Event Description:
The KBA CLE Committee presents a seminar entitled ”Healthcare Reform - What Employers Need To Know Now” featuring Catherine E. Shuck, Wimberly Lawson Wright Daves & Jones, PLLC. The seminar was originally presented live on September 21, 2010 under the title ”Healthcare Reform is HERE!” Learn what the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act means for employers, including: • Employer obligations under reform, both now and in the years to come • Potential new areas of exposure for employers, including new causes of action for employees & fines employers may face • Employer record-keeping and reporting requirements • How the new health insurance exchanges could affect employers Did you know? The Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act, commonly called healthcare reform, will affect every individual and almost all businesses and their group health plans. Some provisions require immediate action by employers and group plans while others are effective in the next few years. Practitioners who advise employers and group health plans must understand the new mandates, the coverage changes in effect now and in the future, and the impact of this legislation for employers and plans. Why should you watch this CLE? To advise your clients and your law partners about: What penalties employers face for not providing health coverage or for providing ”unaffordable” coverage? What coverage mandates are included in the new bill - and when must these changes be made? How the legislations protects ”grandfathered” plans? The program has been approved for one hour of general CLE credit. Program Partners: The Trust Company & Association of Legal Administrators - Knoxville Chapter |
