Event Description: Program sponsored by the Knoxville Bar Association Work Life Balance Committee This is a course that appeals to both younger lawyers and more experienced practitioners, since it presents a number of innovative and challenging steps to help you build a successful, satisfying and sustainable practice. Today an increasing number of lawyers are experiencing burnout, low productivity, insomnia, and stress related illnesses … Finding Balance: The Key is to understand how you relate to others! 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Speakers: Bruce Anderson, East TN Children’s Hopstial & Annette Winston Stress is a constant in our lives. Workloads, deadlines, client development, finances can be part of an endless and overwhelming list. Often a significant source of stress can be our personal relationships with others, whether it is at work with a law partner or a client, or at home with a spouse or child. Each of us has certain strengths and weaknesses that we bring to the table in all situations in which we must interact with others. Learning, Thinking, Working Styles is a simple and effective tool to assist us in understanding more about our preferences for interrelating with others and an insight into how those we live and work with interconnect with us. It is about enhancing our quality of life by improving our personal relationships. Each person will have the opportunity to evaluate his or her own learning, thinking and working style. It’s never too late to get a life: What it takes to find balance! 3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Panelists: Jason Long, London & Amburn, P.C. - Lawyer, Sharon Hoover, M.A., PCC - Life Coach, Holly Webb, Nurse Practitioner, Mary Beth Maddox, Frantz, McConnell & Seymour - Moderator Panelists will give advice to lawyers about how they can lead healthy lives, control stress and manage the demands of the legal profession.
