Add to Outlook Calendar... Event Description: On Monday, December 20, 2010 from 12 noon - 1:00 p.m. the KBA CLE Committee will present ”Effective Advocacy: From Mediation to the Courtroom”. The program was originally presented live during the KBA Law Practice Expo in April 2010. The video will be shown at the KBA office and a moderator will be present so the program has been approved for live CLE credit (instead of distance learning or online CLE credit which is limited to 8 hours per year). The program has been approved for 1 hour of general CLE Credit. The seminar features Michael J. King - Woolf, McClane, Bright, Allen & Carpenter, PLLC, Robert P. Murrian - Reeves, Herbert & Murrian, P.A., Hon. Joseph M. Tipton, TN Court of Criminal Appeals, Mark C. Travis, J.D., L.L.M. - ADR Specialists and Hon. Dale C. Workman, Knox County Circuit Court, Division I. A panel of judges and mediators will provide practical tips and best practices for effective communication in mediation, at trial and on appeal. The panelists will provide practical tips on a wide-range of topics including oral argument, examination of witnesses and mediation presentations. The panel will focus on effective communication from the standpoint of the listener - the court, the mediator, opposing counsel, and the jury. The goal of this program will be for attendees to enhance their litigation, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Location Information: |
