Add to Outlook Calendar... Event Description: The KBA CLE Committee presents a program entitled ”Whose Spleen is it Anyway?: Bioetchics at the Cellular Level”. This program will feature Glenn C. Graber, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Tennessee. Professor Graber will present the regulations proposed in the 2010 Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on human tissue and explore ethical issues in research involving human tissue (Henrietta Lacks), including the issue of patenting biological material and the use of biospecimens from biopsies and surgeries. He will also include handouts on end of life issues. Cost:KBA Members - $ 20 The program has been approved for 1 hour of dual CLE credit. Sign up now! Seminar is only available to the first 30 registrants. Lunch will be by provided by The Entertainer, sponsored by East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, and is included as part of the registration fee. 12 noon -12:30 p.m. Lunch12:30 - 1:30 p.m. CLE Program A reservation is required by 48 hours in advance of the program. No registrations will be accepted the day of the program (no walk-ins). Seminar held at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, 2018 Clinch Avenue, Koppel Office Building, Schmid Room. Participants will be greeted in the lobby of the Koppel Building. Maps at www.etch.com DIRECTIONS TO CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL: The hospital is located between 21st and 22nd streets and between Clinch and White Ave. Parking is available in the parking garage at the corner of 22nd and Clinch. From the garage walk east toward the hospital. Koppel Plaza is the bldg. on your left before you cross 21st to enter Children’s. Someone will direct you inside the Koppel Plaza building.
