Event Description: The KBA Government & Public Service Lawyers Section presents a seminar entitled ”Transforming Civility into Camaraderie: How to Be a Better Lawyer" on June 28, 2012 at 12 Noon at the U.S. Attorney’s Office - Conference Room, 800 Market Street, Suite 211. The progam will feature Hon. C. Clifford Shirley, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Tennessee. Please join the KBA Government & Public Service Lawyers Section for a CLE featuring Hon. Cliff Shirley, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Come to listen and join in on a talk about civility from a both a lawyer and judicial perspective and learn how to take civility to the next level – camaraderie. The talk will cover pragmatic and professional motivations to become “that kind of lawyer,” and will even include medical and physiological benefits to building good will and collaborative rapport. There will be a special discussion of how this transformation can apply to government and public service lawyers, who will come away with new insights of making such behavior not only logical and reasonable, but also desirable and “do-able.” Feel free to brown bag your lunch! Approved for 1 hour of dual CLE credit. Program Cost: KBA Members - $ 20 Non-KBA Members - $ 30 KBA Law Student Members - No Charge Staff of KBA Members - $ 20 KBA Members not wishing to receive CLE credit may attend the program at no charge (handout materials not included). A reservation is required in advance of the program. There is a $ 5 additional charge for registration on the day of the program. You do not need to be a member of the section in order to attend the CLE program. |
