Event Description: The KBA Corporate Counsel Section is proud to present ”eDiscovery 101: A Primer for In-House Counsel” CLE program featuring Bill Dean, Director of Computer Forensics for Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, Inc. Electronic Discovery is the process of collecting, preserving, processing, and producingelectronic information in litigation. On December 1st, 2006, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure were updated to include (expect) electronic information to be produced in litigation when in Federal Court. These rules placed electronic information at the same level of importance as paper in litigation. On July 1st of 2009, very similar rules went into effect for TN State Courts. With the rules now in place in both Federal and State courts, there is no where to hide. Courts and attorneys need to learn the value of and leveraging electronic information in most all instances of litigation. Bill Dean, Director of Computer Forensics for Sword & Shield Enterprise Security, Inc., addresses the issues of collecting, preserving, processing, and producing electronic information in litigation. The program has been approved for one hour of dual CLE credit. Program Cost: KBA Members - $ 20 Non-KBA Members - $ 30 KBA Law Student Members - No Charge Staff of KBA Members - $ 20 A reservation is required in advance of the program - $ 5 dollar additional fee the day of the program. You do not need to be a member of the section in order to attend the CLE program. KBA Members not wishing to receive CLE credit may attend the program at no charge (handout materials not included).
