About the Hike

As part of the Knoxville Bar Association’s Exploring East Tennessee Series, we are pleased to invite members to join Supreme Court Justices Sharon Lee and Gary Wade for a hike to Abrams Falls Trail, which is inside Cades Cove. The trail to Abrams Falls is approximately 2.5 miles and is classified as "moderate” in difficulty. This will be a pleasant summertime walk with plenty of shade alongside Abrams Creek.

Following a box lunch, KBA members and their guests will enjoy a highly interactive and informal panel presentation about professionalism. Our panel will share ethical and professional words of wisdom and their personal and practical advice. Relatively new to practice or vigorously practicing law for 50+ years, our panelists will speak from the heart and leave you with thoughts and words to live by.

Schedule

8:00 - 8:30 a.m. Arrive at the Trailhead for the Abrams Creek Trail (coffee, juice, fruit &
bagels provided at check-in).

8:30 a.m. Early arrivers depart.

8:45 - 9:00 a.m. Late arrivers depart. We anticipate that all should be able to complete the roundtrip hike in 3 to 3.5 hours, including a break at the falls.

12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Box lunch (included in the registration fee). Lunch & CLE will be held either at the pavilion at Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area or at the covered assembly area at the Cades Cove Store. Details to be confirmed via e-mail by June 1.
