You and your guest are cordially invited to join the Knoxville Bar Association for a one-hour CLE program, a three course meal at Chez Liberty and the Knoxville Opera’s performance of Romeo & Juliette at the historic Tennessee Theater. Members are encouraged to invite friends and family to join us. The program will be entertaining and educational for lawyers and their guests. Over dinner KBA member Dan McGehee, who is the Chair of the Knoxville Opera Board, will provide a preview about the opera so both novice and regular opera goers will enjoy the performance. This is the perfect start for your Valentine’s weekend, so even if you can’t join us for the entire event, or already have tickets to the opera, make sure to select one of the options below. The program and dinner will be held at Chez Liberty which is conveniently located in Bearden. Following dinner, guests will drive themselves downtown for the opera.

CLE PROGRAM: Perils of Love - Both Young & Old
Stories of bitter divorces and paternity suits fill our TVs and bookshelves and maybe even the holiday dinner table. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear renowned litigators Lucinda Albiston and Betsy Meadows as they regale us with anecdotes of their experiences handling family law cases. Members and their guests will find the stories from the trenches informative as our veteran practitioners share what they would have done differently and what they have figured out along the way in this one hour CLE program.

DINNER: Chez Liberty
An exquisite dining experience that includes a three course pre-opera dinner consists of grilled Hakurei turnips, blood orange, arugula, local honey vinaigrette with a choice of braised Mishima Ranch Wagyu shortribs or Charleston Harbor day boat fish and Meyer lemon mousse, lavender tuile. Optional wine pairings will be available to enhance your dining experience.

OPERA: Romeo & Juliette at the Tennessee Theater
San Francisco Opera’s sensational Noah Stewart and Puerto Rico’s enchanting Zulimar Lopez-Hernandez star as the passionate, ill-fated lovers. The opera is in French with projected English translations. This production features brief dramatic readings from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet in English during the opera performance.

CLE Program- 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Dinner- 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Opera - 8:00 p.m.

A reservation is required in advance of the program.
CLE Season Pass Holders will receive the CLE at no charge but should register for the dinner & opera option.
