Event Description:

The KBA Family Law Section presents a seminar entitled ”The Ethical Concerns of Mediating a Pro Se Family Case” on January 17, 2012 at 12 Noon at the City County Building - Main Assembly Room. The CLE features Jacqueline O. Kittrell, Esquire, Executive Director Community Mediation Center.

Attend this program to learn more about mediating pro se family law matters as it relates to Rule 31 and the Rules of Professional Conduct. Jackie Kittrell, the Executive Director of the Community Mediation Center, will address how to use the new pro se divorce forms in situations where both parties are pro se; one party represented, one pro se; and also circumstances where the attorneys do not participate in mediation. Jackie will also provide us with an update from the Supreme Court’s Access to Justice Commission on other pro se forms and unbundled legal services.

The program has been approved for one hour of dual CLE credit.

Program Cost:

KBA Members - $ 20
Non-KBA Members - $ 30
KBA Law Student Members - No Charge
Staff of KBA Members - $ 20

A reservation is required in advance of the program - $ 5 dollar additional fee the day of the program.

You do not need to be a member of the section in order to attend the CLE program. KBA Members not wishing to receive CLE credit may attend the program at no charge (handout materials not included).
