Event Description: The KBA Criminal Justice Section presents a seminar entitled ”Preparing for a New Wave of License Revocations” on October 12, 2011 at 12 Noon at the City County Building - Small Assembly Room. The CLE features Hon. Mary Beth Leibowtiz, Criminal Court, Division III. Effective July 1, Tennessee law now requires license revocation for all persons who do not pay court costs and fines within one year of conviction. This is a legislative change that will affect judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and the clerks of the court. Join Judge Mary Beth Leibowitz as she reviews the specific provisions of the new law, its likely impact on court administration, and its application to the typical defendant. Approved for 1 hour of general CLE credit. Program Cost: KBA Members - $ 20 Non-KBA Members - $ 30 KBA Law Student Members - No Charge Staff of KBA Members - $ 20 A reservation is required in advance of the program. There is a $ 5 additional charge for registration on the day of the program. KBA Members not wishing to receive CLE credit may attend the program at no charge (handout materials not included).
