Event Description:

On Friday, July 29, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. the KBA CLE Committee will present ”Social Media and The Cloud – Friend or Foe?”. The program was originally presented live during the KBA Law Practice Expo on April 8, 2011.

The video will be shown at the KBA office and a moderator will be present so the program has been approved for live CLE credit (instead of distance learning or online CLE credit which is limited to 8 hours per year). The program has been approved for 1 hour of dual CLE credit.

Featuring:
Mark Bassingthwaighte, ALPS Risk Management Attorney

Many attorneys refuse to have anything to do with social media. Many more maintain that they will never enter the Cloud when the truth is they don’t realize that they already have. A basic understanding of what the Cloud and social media are is now viewed by many as an essential core competency for an attorney. If this is not a core competency for you then this program is the place to start. Come learn what social media is and why the failure to use it as a research tool is malpractice. Then, if that weren’t enough, we’ll also focus on the ethical and security issues that arise with a presence in the cloud and on social media. Hold on tight. This one may shake you up a bit

Program Cost:
KBA Members - $ 35
Non-KBA Members - $ 50
Staff of KBA Members - $ 35

A reservation is required in advance of the program - $ 5 dollar fee additional the day of the program.
