Event Description: Schedule: 11:30 a.m. Buffet Lunch Opens (Please arrive prior to 11:45 a.m.) 12:00 noon Law Day Program including Recognition of the High School Mock Trial Teams; Presentation of the Poster & Essay Contest winners; Announcement of the prestigious Law & Liberty Award; and Commemoration of the Law Week activities by the Knoxville Barristers. 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. CLE Program - Approved for 1 hour of dual/ethics CLE Credit "The Ethics of Atticus Finch" Featuring Judy M. Cornett, Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law. In recognition of the 50th anniversary of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel To Kill a Mockingbird, Professor Judy Cornett, associate professor at the U.T. College of Law, will examine whether Atticus Finch acts ethically according to the Rules of Professional Conduct. Atticus Finch is the epitome of what it means to be an ethical lawyer, enduring opprobrium from the community for representing an unpopular client. This program will remind you of that spark of inspiration that led you to law school in the first place. Atticus Finch is truly one of the great heroes of American fiction. Buffet Lunch:Fresh Field Green Salad, Honey Drizzled Fresh Fruit Salad, Herb Roasted Chicken, Country Style Green Beans, Sautee of Zucchini, Summer Squash and Tomatoes, Rosemary Roasted Red Jacket Potatoes and Raspberry Trifle: Moist Cake with Fresh Raspberries and Vanilla Anglaise Sauce The buffet opens at 11:30 a.m. The Law Day program begins at 12 noon so please plan to arrive prior to 11:45 a.m. Tables of 10 may be reserved in advance.
