Event Description:
The KBA Family Law Section presents a seminar entitled "What Every Divorce Attorney Needs to Know about Bankruptcy Law and Its Impact on their Client". The program will feature Brenda G. Brooks, Moore & Brooks.

Topics of discussion will include:

• Overview of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA) and how it relates to divorce actions.
• The Automatic Stay and its effect on pending divorce litigation. Bankruptcy Law and the "Domestice Support Obligation" (DSO). What is a "DSO"? Can you bankrupt a DSO?
• Bankruptcy and its effect on the division of marital debt.
• Bankruptcy and property settlements including division of real estate and retirement.

You do not need to be a member of the section in order to attend the CLE program. KBA Members not wishing to receive CLE credit may attend the program at no charge (handout materials not included).

The program has been approved for one hour of general CLE credit.

A reservation is required in advance of the program -$ 5 dollar fee additional the day of the program.

Box Lunches from "Cafe Trio" on Market Square:

The KBA will make arrangements with "Cafe Trio" to deliver panini box lunches for this CLE program. The box lunch will include a panini sandwich, kettle chips, pickle & cookie. The KBA will provide water and sodas. Please choose from Turkey Avocado, Roast Beef Cheddar, Cordon Bleu, Veggie or Reuben. The cost of the box lunch is set at $ 9.00 and the money will be collected the day of the program. If you choose to pre-order a box lunch you will be responsible for the cost whether or not you are able to attend the program. The box lunches must be pre-ordered by March 27^th and we need a minimum of 10 lunches in order to place the order.  The KBA office will not have extra lunches available to purchase on the day of the program.

If you are interested in ordering a box lunch from "Cafe Trio" please contact Tammy Sharpe at 522-6522 or at tsharpe@knoxbar.org by 12 noon on March 27^th. If you choose to respond by e-mail, please indicate the type of panini sandwich you would prefer.  We will confirm all lunch requests once the order has been placed with Café Trio.
