Now, the Knoxville Bar Association is offering a series of FREE seminars on today's most important legal topics, presented in plain language by top legal experts.

Wills & Estate Planning for Everyone
Where there's a will - there's a family provided for by a thoughtful loved one. Learn about changes in the law that have had an impact on estate planning, including the gift and tax law changes in 2014. Topics include wills and trusts, conservatorships, probate options in Tennessee and the importance of living wills and powers of attorney. This session will also address the planning necessary to assure that in case of legal incapacity, your wishes regarding financial and health care decisions will be followed.

Consumer Rights & Responsibilities: Protect Yourself and Your Assets
Each day the Knoxville News-Sentinel tells the story about the rough economic times, skyrocketing costs and record-breaking unemployment. What should you do to protect your family and try and prevent foreclosure or bankruptcy? Understand your rights if you are trying to pay off a debt and what to do if you are sued by a creditor. As a consumer, make sure you
understand the conditions of a loan contract, debts associated with medical expenses and credit card agreements. Consider the legal and financial implications of your contract decisions and learn how to protect yourself. This session will teach you how to protect yourself against Identity Theft and the steps to minimize the damages if you become a victim.
Know your rights for FREE at the Community Law School! The Community Law School is a free program focused on sharing information with the public about their legal rights and the role these rights play in their daily lives. The program is completely free and the courses will be taught by practicing attorneys who are volunteers with the Knoxville Bar Association.
