Here are some helpful tips for using our site.
We have worked very hard on the design and layout of our site.
You will notice that many of the sections with search options feature accordion style headers that when clicked, expand to reveal more information. This layout is consistent throughout the site so we hope that once you become more familiar with the site that you will be able to fully realize all of the functionality that each section offers. Each searchable section of our site contains a Search Form header at the top. After you enter in search criteria and your results are revealed, if you wish to start over, just click the Search Form header again. This will expand the header and reveal your search options. Click the reset button to start a new search. KBA member profiles have been designed to display a badge that includes a View this Profile option. Make sure to click View this Profile to learn more about the individual member.

Continuing Legal Education (CLE)...
Knoxville Bar Association - Continuing Legal Education Search Page
Search for CLE programs based on the type of course (on-site or online), type of CLE credit (dual, general or mediation), area of law or by course name. In addition to registering and pre-paying by credit card, you have the option to view a map of the location, learn more about the faculty and download the event to your Outlook calendar. Also, there is an option to print a registration form to send in your payment by check.
Online Attorney Directory...
Knoxville Bar Association - Online Attorney Directory Search Page
This powerful search form provides you with the option to search by attorney name, areas of practice, year licensed, BPR number, Firm Name and even by eight popular Social Networking sites. Make sure to click View this Profile for any KBA member in order to get detailed information about each member (year licensed, law school attended, year licensed and area of practice concentration). You also have the option to download a vCard which contains all of the member’s contact information and photo. The KBA will be publishing a new Pictorial Register in the fall so if a member’s photo is not currently included, there will be an opportunity to add a photo later this year. To view all Knoxville attorneys, just click Begin Search without entering anything in the search boxes. Since the Online Attorneys Directory is restricted to KBA members, the For Members box will only appear in the left margin after a KBA member logs in.
Knoxville Law Firms...
Knoxville Bar Association - Law Firm Search Page
Search for law firms by firm name or areas of practice. Start entering a few letters and a box with suggested results will appear. The law firms listed in this section have paid a nominal fee for their listing. Make sure to click on View this Firm’s Profile in order to see the firm’s contact information and areas of practice. Firms with a Premium listing have a View Attorneys option that displays the lawyers within the firm along with their photo, year licensed and areas of practice concentration. In addition, the Premium Listing provides an option to e-mail a representative of the firm, download the firm’s v-card, and get directions and view a map of the firm’s location.
Find a Mediator...
Knoxville Bar Association - Find a Mediator Search Page
Search for mediators by name, qualifications (Rule 31, Arbitrator or Federal Court) or by subject area experience. Make sure to click View this Profile to see detailed information including background and education, professional affiliations, training and experience, notes about the mediator’s style and hourly rates and fees. We are certain this will be a great resource to those who are trying to identify which mediator will be best to mediate a particular type of case.
Legal Marketplace...
Knoxville Bar Association - Legal Marketplace Search Page
Search for local vendors by name or by type of service. Information includes a company description and contact information. For those with a Premium Listing, you can e-mail a company representative directly, download a v-card to your Outlook contacts and get directions and view a map of their location.
Court Directory...
Knoxville Bar Association - Court Directory
Search the Court Directory for information about all of the state and federal courts and judges. You will find each of the judges listed and links to the court websites and local rules. KBA members will need to be logged in to view the individual Judicial profiles which provides biographical information and preferences regarding conduct and practice in their respective court. Just click on the name of the judge and click View Profile under the photo.
Calendar and Events...
Knoxville Bar Association - Calendar
Search the KBA Master Calendar by entering in keywords in the Search Calendar box at the bottom of the Monthly Calendar. This is particularly helpful if you want to find out when a Committee is meeting or when the next Barristers Happy Hour is scheduled. The events calendar includes all of the events sponsored by the KBA including CLE. Each event includes an Add to Outlook Calendar option, a link to the shopping cart so that you can register and pre-pay by credit or there is an option to print a registration form to pay by check.
