Employment Law Overview
Find a Knoxville lawyer to assist with your Employment Law matter.
The Lawyer Referral & Information Service (LRIS) program, a non-profit public service of the Knoxville Bar Association, can help you find an experienced, qualified employment law attorney who is right for you.
In Tennessee the relationship between an employer and an employee without a written contract is described as an at-will relationship. That means that an employee may be discharged for good cause, bad cause, or no cause at all. Either the employer or the employee may terminate the relationship at will. Do you feel like your employer has wrongfully discharged you? Have you been discriminated against by your employer or harrassed by your boss or co-workers? Do you have a contract dispute with your employer? These are only a few examples of the types of employment law matters that should be discussed with an experienced employment law attorney.
Getting the Right Lawyer is the first step in getting a Good Result.
We’re here to try to help you find a lawyer who can explain your rights and provide you assistance based on recent court decisions that may affect your situation. Employees may seek free advice on employment discrimination matters by contacting the Tennessee Human Rights Commission and/or the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
